On October 20th, the World Bank will hold a discussion of the first draft of the IPSP report. Marc Fleurbaey (Steering Committee) will provide an overview of the panel and discuss “Narratives about social progress,” based on Chapters 4 and 8 of the report; Henry Richardson (Ch. 2) will address the question of “What is social progress?”; and Nora Lustig (Scientific Council & Ch. 3) will talk about “Inequalities and redistribution.” Francisco Ferreira, a senior advisor in the World Bank’s Development Research Group (DECRG), will moderate a question & answer session with the IPSP authors. The event will be followed by the World Development Report 2006 Anniversary Conference, titled “Equity and Development: Ten Years On.”
