The Institut Louis Bachelier (France), will hold a conference on the theme of “GLOBAL WARMING, SOCIETY AND RESPONSIBILTY”, on 19 June, at 2pm – 6pm, at the Collège de France, in Paris.
IPSP Author and member of the Steering Committee, Marie-Laure Salles-Djelic will participate as a panelist on the theme of the Energy Transition and draw her intervention from the main ideas of the “Manifesto For Social Progress: Ideas For A Better Society”.
The Conference starts from the observation that global warming is now a fact, and public opinion is finally mobilized. New constraints, of a moral, political or legal nature, are gradually being put in place, entailing new obligations for governments, companies and individuals. The purpose of the meeting is to take stock of these constraints, and to study a concrete case, the “stranded assets”.
Topics of the conference:
- Predictable consequences of global warming on economic and social organization;
- State responsibility;
- Corporate responsibility;
- Case studies on stranded assets.
Guest speakers (provisional list):
- Ivar Ekeland, Paris-Dauphine University, FIME laboratory;
- Michel Lepetit, SHIFT project;
- Gilles Lhuilier, Ecole Normale Supérieure;
- Beatrice Parance, UPL Vincennes-Saint-Denis ;
- Cecile Renouard, ESSEC;
- Marie-Laure Salles-Djelic, School of Management, SciencesPo and IPSP.
Organizing Committee: Ivar Ekeland, Peter Tankov, Stéphane Voisin
The event is organized by the Louis Bachelier Institute as part of the IRP Interdisciplinary Research Programs – GSF Green & Sustainable Finance
Established in 2008, the Institut Louis Bachelier is a partnership-based research network in economics and finance. It brings together academic institutions, companies and public authorities with a view to shedding light on economic issues. The Institute structures its research programmes around four major transitions: banking and financial, demographic, energy, and digital.
The transversal program Green&Sustainable Finance, led by the Institut Bachelier, aims to boost the profile of the French academic establishment in the field of green and sustainable finance, to mutualize the research effort among its institutions while expanding its financial resources and to make sure that the most critical research issues driven by these new emerging challenges are properly addressed, in coordination among the institutions and with the financial industry, and communicated to a large audience.
