On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, Professor Elisa Reis (Professor of Political Sociology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Member of the IPSP Steering Committee, and Vice President of the International Science Council) intervened in a panel discussion at the Alternative Policy Solution 1st Annual Conference.
The chosen theme for this first edition of the Conference was “Towards an Economy for All”, in which panelists were invited to discuss issues as diverse as inequality of opportunity, the future of work and distribution of income and wealth.
Prof. Reis’s intervention was entitled “Concurring with Alternative Policy Solutions” and discussed the scope of different alternative policies that have the ability to improve the inclusiveness of economic growth. The panel discussion covered policies in the areas of income and wealth distribution, access to education and health services, and natural resource management.

Alternative Policy Solutions is a non-partisan, public policy research project at The American University in Cairo.
